![]() PC sales in India is growing all the time and processor giant Intel is enjoying the benefit of the booming Indian PC market. AMD bosses have now realized that they should be more serious about Indian market. AMD is growing in India too. Market share of AMD was 23% in the January-March quarter. However, this can increase if AMD is more serious about India then it can surely do better. Actually, I feel that South Asia can be an ideal market for AMD to flourish simply because the market here is price sensitive. AMD is often portrayed as the company who makes processors at a bit cheaper rate than Intel. I don't know why AMD bosses are not eager to make the best out of this market.
AMD is going to recruit some more engineers in the next 18 months but compared to Intel, AMD does not have a strong presence in South Asia. AMD bosses should really take note of this market and try to engage more dealers and distributors from South Asia. Once, I attended the meeting of Genuine Intel Dealers in Bangladesh and I found that Intel had more than 100 GIDs in a small country like Bangladesh.
I feel that South Asia is an ideal market for AMD to grow.
Do you agree with me?
