![]() In Europe and USA, immigration is a hotly debated issue. There, many people regret the presence of immigrants from the developing world. The western media is so much obsessed with the immigration debate in Europe and USA that they fail to notice that some people are coming from the rich world to the poor world. According to a report published in the Hindustan Times, I could see that 37,700 British nationals are now in India. Of course, this figure is nothing compared to the number of people of Indian origin living in UK. However, 37,700 is not a small figure either. This statistics has come from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of UK government.
Why so many British people are now living in India? Well, some of them are basically people of Indian origin who took became British citizen are now living in India. On the other hand, Indian economy is growing. That is why, some British businessmen people are trying to make their fortune in India. Anyway, the number of British people living in India will only increase in the coming years because of the Indian economic growth. I am not surprised about it all. East India Company was formed in 1600 to take advantage of the rich economy of Indian subcontinent. Since India is rising again, it will become a favorite destination from many people in England. The only problem is that there is no East India Company now. I hope it is ok for them.
