Indian government is now contemplating on the idea of 100% FDI in education sector. That means foreign educational institutes will be able to invest in India directly and Indian children will get the opportunity to study in world class universities in India. There has been a rift in the ruling alliance about this matter. Human resource development ministry and the Left parties are against this idea. Those who support the idea of allowing foreign universities to operate in India argue that India is losing more than $4 billion because of the matter that many students go abroad to study. On the other hand, those who are against of this idea feel that it is not in the best of Indian interest.
I feel that Indian government should allow foreign universities in India but there should be a regulatory body to look after this matter.
