In the Middle East, thousands of Indian workers are working and they are contributing a lot to the economies of Middle East countries. Many of them often suffer very nasty kind of abuse. Sometimes, they suffer torture and do not get their salaries in due time. Until now, Indian government was helpless to do anything mainly for two reasons. Firstly, India was keen to export as many workers as possible to ease off its own unemployment problem. On the other hand, Indian economy was too much dependent on the remittance sent by workers from the Middle East.
Now, Indian economy is growing at a fast pace. Above all, Indian workers have become an inseparable part of Middle East economy. If the Middle East countries want to drive all the Indian workers their economies will get badly hurt. So, India can now bargain more. India has already got a labor contract with Qatar and now it is going to sign another contract with Kuwait. Indian government is hoping that it can sign similar contracts with other GCC countries very soon. This news will be welcomed by millions of Indian workers and their families.
