In my previous entry, I talked about the topmost Indian cities. Actually, Indicus Analytics evaluated the cities according to three factors:
A place to live in
A place to earn money
A place to invest money
It seems that Bangalore has emerged as the winner. It is a great place to live. Because of the presence of hundreds of IT companies, getting jobs and earning money are easy too. The only thing Bangalore lacks is good opportunity to invest money. I agree that Bangalore is one of the top cities in India but I feel that the report has overlooked the problems faced by people in Bangalore.
Bangalore needs to have better infrastructure and the city has become very congested. Traffic jam and pollution have started to go a bit out of control and the city dwellers are suffering. Because of the presence of so many foreign companies there is opportunity to earn money but at the same time, price of many things are becoming expensive for the ordinary people.
On the other hand, no city is free from problems and in India traffic jam and pollution are common problems for almost all the major cities. Bangalore is the best success story for India. For its outstanding success in IT sector, Bangalore is often compared with Silicon Valley.
