I always feel that after India, Philippines is the strongest contender in the outsourcing field in Asia. Philippines has almost all the things that India has: cheap labor, workforce skilled in English language, skilled people in IT field. So, it gives me a lot of satisfaction to see that India and Philippines are trying to explore the possibilities in cooperation. A 15-member Nasscom team from India is visiting Philippines. Nasscom president Kiran Karnik is leading the Indian team. They will have meetings with Philippine business process outsourcing (BPO) companies. An accord is expected to be signed that will ensure cooperation among the two countries in outsourcing in the coming days.
I am very happy for this matter. Both the countries can be benefited. It will be great if India and Philippines can help each other. India is now the number one destination for outsourcing and the Filipino companies can learn from India. On the other hand, Filipino companies are showing good success in the animation sector. Indian companies can get some help from Philippines in this regard.
