India is always a great place to visit and many tourists come to the country every year. According to Conde Nast Traveller (a UK tourism magazine), India is the fourth best travel destination in the world. The readers of the magazines voted for different countries and the top ten countries are:
Italy
New Zealand
Australia
India
South Africa
France
Thailand
Spain
Brazil
Switzerland
The only sad part is that the readers also voted for the top cities in the world and in the top 20, there was not a single Indian city. So, I guess, Indian government has to give more effort to make Indian cities more attractive to the foreign tourists. Especially, Indian tourism ministry and even private companies can take initiatives to build exclusive zones for the tourists just beside some of the major cities like Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore. Indian government should also try to attract foreign investment in tourism sector.
