![]() A few weeks ago, Kerala government imposed a ban on sale of Coke and Pepsi in the state. Now, the Kerala High Court has lifted the ban and Coke and Pepsi officials in India now have got every reason to celebrate. However, it does not mean the end of the legal battle for Coke and Pepsi in India. They have some other places to fight. Even Kerala government has vowed to fight the cola giants in Supreme Court. NDTV has reported:
“But the Left Government whose Chief Minister headed the campaign against colas in Kerala and had touted the ban as a political victory now plans to challenge the verdict in the Supreme Court.
The legal battle between the cola giants and Kerala Government is likely to continue and its just one of the many cases on the same issue being heard in the Madras, Karnataka and Rajasthan courts.
But with cola company campaigns on a PR over drive and no word from the health ministry, the Indian consumer remains in the dark.”
More than everything, Coke and Pepsi will have to think of a way to get back the sales figures in India. Their sales figures have suffered a lot because of the recent pesticide controversy.
