This story could make the front page of Fark and resulted bringing more than 45,000 hits in just 3 days. In Fark, there were more than 400 comments and in my blog, more than 120 persons commented. I got shocked to see a very high level of bitter attacks against Disney. It seems that no one likes Disney. Then how come, Disney films could make so much money! Some of the visitors even attacked Biplob personally that he was somehow related to Disney. It’s not that I agree with the list but whether you like it or not, Disney bosses know how to do business. Its annual revenue is nearly $30 billion.
Today, I again realized that Disney bosses really know how to do business. While foreign TV channels have limited themselves in broadcasting in English language in , Disney is going to focus on Hindi language more. I am quoting from a report of Forbes.com:
“Walt Disney Co is poised to make a major push into local language TV programming in India, with plans to become the first foreign media group to release original, local language programs for the domestic children's TV market, the Financial Times reported on its website.
Just two months after buying Hungama TV, a rival domestic children's channel, Disney is working on two original, live action Hindi-language TV series to be shown on its Disney Channel, the report said.
……………………………………………
Disney launched its Disney Channel in India in Sept 2004 and three months later launched Toon Disney, its second major channel. The channels reach 30 mln households through satellite and cable networks.”
So, you see, Disney has now become the first foreign media to company to produce original program in Indian language. This is a great bonus for Indian TV viewers. They will have something in their own language from Disney. can become a gold mine for Disney and Disney will get more successful and more people will hate Disney for its success.
