Polio is again making a comeback in India. This is a bad sign for the country. Well, it seems that polio is not just going away from India no matter how much the Indian government is trying. In Internet, I just saw these news headlines:
Here are 5 things I am suggesting for the India so that they can fight better with polio.
- Indian government should allocate more funds in its fight against polio.
- Indian media should start massive promotional activities to make people aware about polio and encourage them to take their children to the vaccination center.
- Indian government should pin point the states that have highest rates of polio attack and allocate more money and resources to fight polio. Uttar Pradesh is the state that has recorded the highest number of cases. So, Indian government should focus on it.
- Contaminated water and food- these are the major reasons behind the spread of polio. Indian government cannot solve this problem right away but it needs to improve the condition at least in Uttar Pradesh.
- Indian government should seek the support of international organizations to fight against polio.
Polio is a health issue but it can easily take an economic turn. If there is a major outbreak of polio, the economy will suffer most.
