In my earlier post, I talked about the article (Will Foreign Universities Come to India?) published in BusinessWeekOnline in support of allowing foreign universities to come India. Well, it seems that it is a matter of time now that Indian government will allow foreign universities to set up their own campus in India. I have basically 3 reservations:
- Indian government must ensure that quality universities from other countries get the permission to operate. American universities have ranking system. So, Indian government should allow universities with high ranking only.
- Indian government also must ensure that foreign universities award the same number of scholarships in India. Indian government must not allow foreign universities to milk India like a cash cow.
- Indian government must also ensure that foreign universities carry out the same level of research projects in India as they do in their own country.
