Imagine the world 100 years ago in 1906. That time, England was ruling India and British industries were reaping the benefit of cheap raw materials from India. On the other hand, England had a very strong presence in China. The city of London was perhaps the most important commercial hub in the world at that time. However, after 100 years things have changed a lot.
London is no longer the most important commercial center in the world anymore. It seems that London can lose its importance further if it fails to attract Indian and Chinese traders in the coming months. BBC reported:
“Despite London's global reputation, the study said Indian firms were building closer links with the US and Dubai.
It found that Chinese businesses were also looking to the US, in addition to Hong Kong and Singapore.
The report by risk analysts Sami Consulting and Oxford Analytica said London was not meeting its potential.”
So, London companies now have to change their strategy and get more involved with India and China. Well, they need to do it fast. Dubai is now emerging as a very importance trade hub in Asia. Indian traders feel much comfortable in Dubai as there are thousands of Indians in the city. Well, more people of Indian origin live in London I guess. So, if decision makers in London really try they can get more interaction with Indian traders.
