India: Intel to Revolutionize Teaching
In countries like India, the education sector is often neglected because the government does not have enough resources to provide world class facilities. India may be the world’s leading power in outsourcing but the ground reality is that most children in India do not have a PC. Even many school teachers have no idea about computers. The good thing is that Intel is trying to make a difference in the education sector of India.
Leading microprocessor manufacturer Intel Friday announced it would donate 10,000 personal computers to state governments and teacher training institutes in India under its 'Intel Teach programme'.

The programme aims at training one million Indian teachers on information and communications technology (ICT). The company had already trained 600,000 teachers of about 14 states across India under the programme.

Surely, this is a generous contribution from Intel and I really wish that other large foreign companies follow Intel’s lead. However, I just wished that Intel could start with just one state or one city and provide extensive support to the teachers of that state or city. I mean I would like to see that Intel first selects just one state or city and then supports each and every school of that state or city. Spreading thin will not benefit the teachers and students that much.

Still, Intel deserves a lot of thanks.
