The ascendency of India as an economic world power

India is a land of languages and dialects. It has perhaps the largest number of languages and dialects in the world. Language often creates emotion and tension among people. After independence, India did not have any comprehensive linguistic survey. So, it is nice to see that Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development may undertake a massive project in this regard. According to a report of the Hindu, the budget of the project is going to be Rs 600 crore. The survey is a good initiative and it will help the companies to understand the potential markets of Indian languages. That is why I wish that officials of Ministry of Human Resource Development try to address the economic concerns related to the linguistic survey. They should consult with the private companies in this regard and include some of the questions that might be helpful for the companies.
