European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) certification is a prestigious certification but no Indian business school has it now. India has some good business schools that are among the best in India. It is the time for India to get recognition in the world stage and that is why, European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) is going to include Indian business schools soon in its certification program. Hindustan Times reported:
Indian B-schools have caught the fancy of renowned accreditation agency European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), which is looking to provide accreditation to the country's top management institutes.
Representative of EFMD, which gives European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) certification, has visited top 10 business schools of the country in the last 15-20 days, inviting them to apply for accreditation.
This is surely good news for Indian business students. Business is a hot topic in India now and this news will surely increase the interest among students and parents about business studies. After Indian business schools get EQUIS Accreditation, Indian students will get more value for their certificates in the international job market.

I am happy for this news but at the same time some worried too. In India, students and parents are becoming too obsessed with science and commerce education. Humanity education is becoming marginalized. This is not a good thing for any society.
