The ascendency of India as an economic world power

The latest FIFA Ranking did not bring any good news for Indian national football team. India is placed in the 157^th position in the ranking and this is who India is going to finish 2006. May be 2007 would bring some better luck. The manager of Indian national team, Bob Houghton, would surely not be happy with this news. However, I feel that Indian team deserved to go down 9 places in the ranking.

After taking charge, Bob Houghton said that his main priority was to ensure that more tall players could be included in the national team. That time, I wrote an entry in this blog: Only tall People can play Soccer Well!!! Short People Can't! There, I criticized the absurd idea of Bob Houghton and stated that he should go for talent not height. It seems that I am right after all. Well, I will be happy if Bob Houghton can prove me wrong in 2007 and I will be happy to eat my own words.
