World Cup Cricket 2007: Sourav Ganguly Satisfied with Indian Squad

One of the greatest Indian batsmen Sourav Ganguly thinks that the Indian squad for the World Cup Cricket 2007 is the best available at this moment in India. ‘Maharaja’ of Indian cricket team feels that Indian team has the right combination of experience and youth. He is delighted with the form of Dhoni.

Malaysia Sun reported:

This time we have to do one better,' Ganguly said Monday, appearing as the brand ambassador of Chirag Computers.
Ganguly, the most successful captain of India, said: 'I think this is the strongest team that can be formed and we have 15 best players of the country.'
'About 90 percent of the players were there in the last World Cup and the new ones like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sreesanth are a fantastic addition,' he said.
Asked whether he was feeling the pressure of expectations going into the quadrennial event, he said, 'I have been doing this for the past 12 years, so I am quite used to it.'
He also was of the opinion that the tournament was more 'open' this time with Australia's form dipping a little bit over the last couple of months.

Meanwhile, Ganguly was given a crystal trophy by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) wishing the best for Sourav Ganguly and Indian Cricket team at the Caribbean. I think Sourav Ganguly is now in a good form and he has to play well in the world cup if India wants to make this world cup another 1983 (that year India won their only World Cup trophy yet under the captaincy of Kapil Dev).
