The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Indian economy is growing at a fast pace and Indian economy needs more energy all the time. In fact, one of the key challenges for India to sustain its high economic growth is to ensure continuous supply of fuel. So, I am happy to see that India is becoming serious about biofuel. Actually, air pollution is a big problem in many Indian cities. So, biofuel is necessary for the environment too. India has joined United States, China, Brazil, South Africa and the European Commission to actively promote biofuel.

Chennai Online reported:

Five major fossil fuel consumers of the world, including India, have joined hands to develop, produce and promote the use of bio-fuel which will help cut down greenhouse gases besides increasing fuel security of nations.

India, United States, China, Brazil, South Africa and the European Commission are partners in the initiative named 'International Bio-fuels Forum' which will meet regularly for one year leading to a major international bio-fuel conference in Brazil in 2008.

The forum would also aim to redress trade imbalances and free up resources for investment in health, education and other social sectors in developing countries.

I want to see this forum to become successful. I wish with all my heart that the members of this forum actively promote biofuel. We have seen enough of sweet words about alternative fuel. It is time for action.
