No Fashion TV in India for Two Months

I find this simply amusing. Indian government officials suddenly realized that Fashion TV is not good for morality of the young people and that is why they have banned Fashion TV. I am not a fan of this channel at all and I feel that Fashion TV should have been banned long time ago in India. However, if Fashion TV destroys the morality of the people then what about Bollywood movies! These days, Bollywood movies are containing more and more vulgar and indecent scenes. Just think of the kissing of Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom2. The Bachchans have used their connections to chop off the scene from the movie.

About banning Fashion TV, News.com wrote:

The channel, which was first banned in February 2002 for a week for showing too much flesh, has come under the government's scanner again for its raunchy footage of scantily clad women pouting and sashaying down ramps in shows such as Midnight Hot.

The latest two-month ban starts on April 1.

"The transmission or re-transmission of this channel on all platforms has been prohibited ... for showing programmes that are against good taste and decency, denigrate women and are likely to adversely affect public morality," a government statement said.

So, Fashion TV is bad for only two months. After that it will become pure and will not offend Indian morality I guess! Everyone knows that what fashion TV offers. It is not that Fashion TV is a new channel. No one excepts that Fashion TV will change its programs for satisfying Indian government.

Fashion TV will not be able to affect “public morality” in India for two months. So, I guess it is up to Bollywood movies to take its place.

just wondering , where will technology take us, new inventions come in so rapid speed that sometime i feel that we can't move with the time and one day we will left behind.

I know that indian people is a very traditional one, but these measures seem a little bit exaggerated. We live in a modern world, the globalization is saying it's word. I think that Indian Officials should reconsider their decisions.

This is funny. As long as the world doesn't go into meltdown, your old Indian culture will eventually give way to the inane Western fashion culture for those who have the luxury of buying into it.

Now, who is it that HAS money/power in India that keeps trying to ban India out of the decadent postmodern life?

im intersted in fashion have any chance 4 me tell

Go on the movies are kool but I really love the tradition. I know we have come to the modern side of the world but that doesn't mean we should do something our ancestors never thought of. 'I believe in culture and in culture we shall be ruled'.
