Right now, I am watching a program about Cricket in NDTV. Some experts are arguing about the future of Indian cricket. The interesting thing is that hardly anyone can agree to the idea of another person in this program. Well, Indian cricket has the same problem now at this moment. There is too much politics and money involved with Indian cricket now.
BCCI officials have remained busy in marketing cricket in India and make cricket as the cash cow for BCCI. They are very successful in doing this and BCCI is now the richest cricket board in the world. However, due to the sudden exit of India from World Cup Cricket 2007, Indian fans are extremely angry. So, BCCI is trying to find a way to keep the situation under control.

In an effort to exercise damage control, BCCI is now trying to restrict the players from being engaged into too many commercials. However, the top companies (both local and foreign) in India are very unhappy with this move from BCCI. They are even contemplating on the idea of taking legal action against BCCI if BCCI tries to clamp down on the commercials endorsed by the Indian cricketers. On the other hand, BCCI officials are not happy either as, Indian fans are still angry with BCCI officials.
