The ascendency of India as an economic world power

It will be an interesting ODI series. In the past, India vs Bangladesh was just like mere formality. No one would expect a tough competition. However, just a few weeks ago, Bangladesh defeated India convincingly in World Cup Cricket 2007. As a result, India suffered a humiliating exit from World Cup 2007. So, Indian players would love to get some revenge again Bangladesh.

The players of ODI team are:

Rahul Dravid (Capt), Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, M S Dhoni, Dinesh Kaarthick, Manoj Tiwari, S Sreesanth, Munaf Patel, Zaheer Khan, R P Singh, Piyush Chawla, Ramesh Pawar, Dinesh Mongia.

The selectors have left Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly out of the ODI team.

Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly were 'rested' for India's one-day cricket series against Bangladesh on Friday but the two stalwarts are selected in the Test squad.

Virender Sehwag, who has been going through a prolonged form slump, was retained only in the ODI team while spinner Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan and Ajit Agarkar were dropped from both the ODI and Test squads announced by the BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah in Mumbai.

Bangladesh team is in super form. They defeated India, Bermuda and South Africa in World Cup Cricket 2007. So, it will be a great ODI series.
