150,000 IBM Jobs to Travel to India from USA?

This is a rumor and not yet confirmed. However, if it becomes true then it will surely create a huge uproar in the US media. A tech columnist has talked about the rumor that IBM bosses are contemplating on axing 150,000 US jobs.

The latest bout of outrage and venting was sparked after a column by a controversial tech columnist who writes under the name Robert Cringely , who disclosed on a public television website that IBM, according to his friends in the company, was getting ready to lay-off a staggering 150,000 workers in the US, with many of the jobs going to India. “For two years Big Blue has been ramping up its operations in India and China with what I have been told is the ultimate goal of laying off at least one American worker for every overseas hire,” Cringely writes. “The big plan is to continue until at least half of Global Services, or about 150,000 workers, have been cut from the US division .”

 

 

If IBM really axes 150,000 jobs in the US then surely, a good part of that will be shifted to India. Well, this is what capitalism is all about. US companies started outsourcing and they are expanding it. Many people in the west do not like to see their jobs being shifted to India.
