
You know that Sony had the rights to broadcast World Cup Cricket matches. We watched the matches in Set Max. Well, World Cup Cricket 2007 was a flop show for Sony as Indian cricket team suffered a very early exit and many Indian people were not interested to watch the matches of other countries.
Now, the time of Indian Idol 3 has come. Sony bosses would surely love to compensate the losses they suffered about World Cup Cricket.

The ICC World Cup may be over but official broadcaster, SET
's cup of woes are not over as yet. Sony had estimated to make revenues worth Rs 400 crores in this World Cup. But due to India ’s early exit, it's targets for the entire year were dampened. India Nearly Rs 200 crore is riding on the TV properties for the rest of the year on Sony. Coming up next month is the third season of Indian Idol. With all the six sponsors for the show finalised, Sony is eager to move on from the World Cup.
“We have not re-negotiated with any sponsors. We have lost a lot on this world cup too. We are in no position to offer anything to any sponsor and going fwd - it's tough to say what the impact will it have,” said Rohit Gupta EVP-Sales, SET
