The ascendency of India as an economic world power

It is old news and you already know that  Kapil Dev will be in charge of Indian Cricket League (ICL). Kapil is one of the greatest Indian cricketers of all time. Under his captaincy, India won World Cup Cricket 1983. This was the only time when India could lift this trophy. So, you can understand one that Kapil Dev loves to win. Now, Indian Cricket League (ICL) will be a big challenge for him.

BCCI officials have not reacted publicly about Indian Cricket League (ICL) yet but it is natural that they will not be excited with this new league. If ICL becomes a successful league then it will seriously undermine the monopoly of BCCI over Indian cricket. At least, ICL will take away a part of the pie of money from Indian cricket.

Kapil Dev was a very successful player. Now, we have to see if he can show the same success in managing ICL.

''It's great pleasure to lead the Executive Board of the ICL, the first Professional League. I will try and utilise my experience of motivating and guiding players, both as captain and coach, to take the young talent to the pinnacle of success,''- this was Kapil’s reaction.
