If you know a bit of cricket then you can never deny Sachin’s greatness as a cricketer. I often wondered: What is the key to his success? Well, it is a bit hard to answer but, for sure, his childhood treasure of thirteen coins played a big role in inspiring him to become one of the top players in world cricket.
As I have already posted two entries on Sachin’s childhood coach Ramakant Achrekar, you might have already known that Achrekar had a great impact on child Sachin and he played an important role in the development of Sachin Tendulkar’s cricket skill. Achrekar once initiated a technique in order to increase Sachin’s concentration level. When Sachin got tired after practicing for a long time, Achrekar put a rupee coin on top of the stamps of Sachin Tendulkar and offered the bowlers to make Sachin out and win the coin. However, if no one could do that then Sachin won the coin.
To win the coin, the tired Sachin needed to put a huge concentration in his batting. So, from there, Sachin got the base of playing so many long innings in both international and domestic cricket. In this way, Sachin Tendulkar won thirteen coins and he treasured them. These thirteen coins are more than thirteen million dollars as it was embedded on pride and encouragement for a teenager.
