The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of Indian cricket team, is now in his prime form since his coming back to the team in the last test series against South Africa. In the ongoing first test of the Grameen Phone Test Series against the host Bangladesh, Ganguly got his 13^th test century and thus he has again proved that he has enough left to give to Indian cricket. Recently, Mohmmad Ashraful, the current vice-captain of Indian cricket team has said that Sourav is a tough cricketer.

Ashraful also admired Ganguly’s leadership quality. Moreover, Ashraful also talked about Dav Whatmore, the outgoing coach of Bangladesh cricket team. He thinks India would be benefited if they take Whatmore as the head coach of Indian cricket team.

Admiring Sourav Ganguly for his leadership qualities, Ashraful said the former Indian captain was a tough cricketer.

"He is a tough man. He is tough as captain, and the toughness also shows in his batting," he said.

"I think India will gain if it got Whatmore. He was with us for four years, he knows a lot about world cricket. He is a good coach," Ashraful said.

"He was with Sri Lanka for seven years and four years with us. He knows the Asian mindset very well."

Ashraful is the youngest test centurion and one of the most talented batsmen in his generation. I think Dav Whatmore can be successful with Team India. However, what is needed for Team India at this moment is to stop internal politics among the board officials and should more accountability in BCCI.
