The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Indian car market is now becoming the battle ground for the car makers. Tata shocked everyone last year by announcing its plan for a $2,000. Now, Nissan Renault has shocked many people by announcing its plan of bringing out a $3,000 in Indian market. This is surely good news for the middle class consumers in India. Here, many families want to own a car but they cannot afford. Nissan Renault is trying to address that market.

Nissan Renault Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn said in a statement: “We will be part of this competition. We are investigating, at the level of the alliance, how we can make a $3,000 car.”

He added that they are working on gathering information to see how and whether it could be done. They could even work with an Indian automaker to develop this car to sell it in India.

It is unlikely however that the company would sell the same product in their other markets.

Indian market is really ideal for cheap cars. Other big car makers should keep this fact in mind and try to introduce cheap cars here.
