The magnificent Mogul monument was among 45 new sites which were considered by the World Heritage Committee for inscription on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
With Thursday's announcement, Red Fort will now be inscribed on the Heritage List alongside 10 other monuments which include Agra Fort, Ajanta caves, Buddhist Monuments at Sanchi,
Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park in Gujarat, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (Mumbai),Ellora Caves , Churches and Convents of Goa, Darjeeling Himalayan Railway and. Elephanta Caves
