BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world and you know that rich people can do many things which poor people cannot do. They can make rules for others but they can break these rules. This is what is happening for BCCI. You already know that BCCI has imposed life time ban against the players who would play in ICL.
BCCI officials are independent and they have every right to do so. If a player does not follow their rule then BCCI has every right to ban him forever. What about the sponsors? Would BCCI ban every company that gets involved with ICL? According to logic, BCCI should do it but BCCI is not going to do it.

The Statesman reported:
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said today that the decision to debar players joining the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) from its activities would not apply to its sponsors.
The BCCI will continue to deal with all their sponsors irrespective of whether they get associated with the Essel Group-floated ICL or not, its vice-president and marketing in-charge Mr Lalit Modi said. “We decided not to be associated with the players who join the ICL as we have trained them and spent money on their development. But, the companies who are our sponsors are individual entities and are free to get associated with any other organisation. We will continue our relationship with them,” Mr Modi said.
On the one hand, BCCI officials are right that they have developed the domestic players and ICL is getting them freely. However, this kind of strategy would only alienate good players. I really think that BCCI officials should put an end to their confrontational attitude towards ICL. It will not help Indian cricket at all.

I feel that BCCI is focussing on so created envoy with the ICL. They should rather think about improving their own board and it's policies so that in future they are not blamed of not performing better than ICL. Bcoz ICL is going to be popular any how.
