The ascendency of India as an economic world power

I don’t know how Chak De India will do in the box office but its world premiere in London could attract around 2000 people. London Mayor Ken Livingstone was also present and he was happy with the movie. Most of the fans were excited to have Shahrukh Khan among them. Shahrukh also entertained the audience in a good way.

Describing it as a new experience, Khan told the packed gathering at the open air theatre last night that it was a different kind of movie, "a little irregular film".

"It has a noble thought. It is important to talk about team spirit, women and their role in the world," he told the cheering crowd.

The premiere was part of the film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House and one of the glittering highlights of 'India Now', a three-month season celebrating London's growing relationship with India and exploration of India's culture and contribution to London life.

Chak De India is an exceptional movie in Bollywood. I wish that it can generate some decent amount of revenue from overseas markets. Then, other Bollywood producers would become interested in making this kind of films.
