Digvijay Singh is a high official of the ruling Congress Party and his support has some weight. Digvijay Singh requested BCCI not to be so harsh on ICL and he believes that ICL can be a good factor for Indian cricket.

In a letter written to BCCI President Sharad Pawar in his individual capacity, Singh said "instead of taking confrontationist stand you should act as a facilitator for the ICL to succeed.
