If you are a cricket fan then the name of Jagmohan Dalmiya is totally familiar to you. He was the president of BCCI and also of ICC. Until a few years ago, he was the most powerful figure in Indian cricket. Now, the current high officials of BCCI are not friends of Mr. Dalmiya and they have tried every way to keep Dalmiya out of BCCI. They are successful about it. So, I did not get surprised to see the report that Dalmiya had talked with Himanshu Mody, one of the top officials of Indian Cricket League (ICL).
The Hindu wrote:
Dalmiya told PTI that the speculation rose when some TV channels' cameramen mistook the business colleague as Mody. "As I was coming out the TV camera men started taking our footage. Later on they realised the guest was not Mody but someone else."
Dalmiya said there was no bar on him to meet Mody. "Everybody knows of my relations with the present BCCI regime. So why should I try to keep under wraps if I did indeed discuss things with Mody."
He iterated that he was in no way associated with ICL but added "I don't know what will happen in future."
Yes, he is right about everything. I am sure that BCCI top bosses will not be too happy to see ICL talking to Dalmiya. I wonder if BCCI officials would try to reach a compromise with Dalmiya now or not!

Everywhere there is politics going on, even it has not spared Cricket. ICL is a good and admirable step towards increasing cricket quality and popularity. Offocurse, players whom not many people know about will come forward and BCCI should not interrupt the progress of ICL. rather it should aggree for competitions between ICL and BCCI team(s) so that right players are identified and the natiional team gets full credit about it.
