The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Ashok Malhotra, the former Indian cricketer, has recently joined Indian Cricket League (ICL). Ashok Malhotra as a middle order batsmen served India’s national team in seven Test and twenty ODI matches. In Indian local cricket, he played for Bengal for many years. There are some other former Bengal players including Pranab Roy who have already joined ICL.

Telegraph India reported:

I was left with no choice as it seemed I had to pay the price for calling a spade a spade…You could say I got hounded out (by the Establishment)…Today as I see it, I have much more respect in ICL,” Malhotra told The Telegraph.

At the moment, he is not sure of his designation as it has not been finalised yet. Malhotra was in the city for his wife’s operation.

 
ICL’s inaugural Twenty20 championship will begin from 30 November. So, it seems that ICL authority is now busy with their last minute preparation ahead of the tournament. Ashok Malhotra has also some experience in cricket coaching.
