Change of Focus from Dell in India
Dell often focuses on big companies rather than individual consumers. This is perhaps going to change in India. You know that Dell is manufacturing computers in India. Also, Indian PC market is becoming large and attractive for all the computer makers including Dell. In fact, India has one of the fastest growing PC markets in the world.

 

Business Standard reported:

 

Dell has a Rs 2,000 crore India business which has been growing by 50% for the past few years. Individual customers, however, contributed only 15% to this turnover, while the rest was contributed by sales to corporate houses. According to Paul-Henri Ferrand, president, APAC South, targetting the individual customer is a big opportunity the company will now focus on. "India is one of the fastest growing markets for us and we will follow a hybrid market for sales here. While we will continue to sell through the Internet and over the phone, we will also look at selling through the retail route," he said. Selling through retail stores will also help Dell move into smaller towns in India.
Dell bosses have taken a wise decision. Indian market is flourishing at this moment. Now, let us see if this shift of focus can increase sale of Dell significantly in the Indian market.
