The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Cisco has recently made it public that they are going to invest $100 million more in Indian market. This time Cisco will invest in venture capital initiatives in India. Cisco has already funded a lot in India’s IT market. Earlier in 2005, Cisco declared that they would invest $1.1 billion over the next two or three years. This $100 million was also included in that amount.

CNN Money reported:

In October 2005, Cisco said it would invest $1.1 billion in India over two to three years. The amount included a $100 million investment in venture capital initiatives in the country.

The $100 million investment announced Tuesday is in addition to the earlier investment plan, Chambers said.

Now, it seems that Cisco has taken India’s ever growing market seriously. With a part of this $100 million investment, Cisco is also going to build a healthcare services platform in association with Satyam Computers Services Ltd. India has a big market and sit has a lot of potential for the multinational companies around the world.
