Ahead of the inaugural Twenty20 tournament of ICL, ICL organizers are now busy with their last minute preparation. The six-team tournament is set to kick off on 30 November. All of the matches will be held on Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurgaon, Chandigarh. The stadium has not yet organized any international cricket. So, ahead of the tournament, the stadium is going through renovation to bring it to international standard. Two curators- South African Phillip Russell and Nadeem Mamon from Mumbai- have already been appointed for this tournament.

Last month, the ground had hosted a few matches of the JP Atray Cricket Tournament, which also saw high scoring matches. Ravinder Chopra, a coach at the ground, said: “The pitch here was a good one then. It had pace and the ball carried through to the wicketkeeper pretty well. But it would be for the first time international players will play here. And work is still needed to conform to international standards.”

ICC official, Kiran More, has recently said that the pitches will be full of runs. Naturally, cricket fans love to see big hits. So, the organizers are also trying to present the matches with full of runs in order to attract the fans. Now, let us see if the curators can make the organizers happy making batsmen friendly wickets.
