
Indian Cricket League (ICL) authority is talking to the several companies to sell out the ground and team sponsorships. The inaugural Twenty20 championship of ICL is all set to start from November 2007. Six teams based on six cities will compete for this tournament. Organized by Essel Group, the tournament will include some of the cricket stars of the cricket world along with young local cricketers.
ICL authority is expecting to earn Rs 15 crore from four sponsors and Rs 15.6 crore from six team sponsors. However, the title sponsor and the title holding will not be sold out.
Economic Times reported:
The group has floated an asking rate of Rs 3.75 crore per sponsor for ground sponsorships, and Rs 2.6 crore per sponsor for city-wise team sponsorships. However, it is not giving away title sponsorship and the title holding rights will remain with the ICL.
A formal announcement of the sponsorship details is expected early next week. When contacted by ET, Zee Sports president Satish Menon said, “We are in the process of signing up our team and ground sponsors. We will announce the names on November 4 or 5.”
ICL has already signed some big stars of cricket world including Brian Lara. All of the matches will be based on Twenty20 format. It is expected that the tournament will make a buzz among the cricket loving fans of
