The ascendency of India as an economic world power

You already know that the first match of ICL Twenty20 competition will take place tomorrow at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula, Chandigarh. The tournament will kick off through the opening match between Chandigarh Lions and Delhi Jets. The trophy of the tournament has been unveiled on Thursday in the presence of six captains of six participating teams. Designer Amit Pabuwal and his wife Kiran Pabuwal designed the trophy which is made of both gold and silver.

The 24-inch trophy, designed by Amit Pabuwal and his wife Kiran Pabuwal, is made out of gold and silver with traditional "Meenakari" carved out capturing the essence of the game. The trophy depicts vibrancy, freshness and new flavour.

Elaborating on the design of the trophy, Amit Pabuwal said, "The three cones represent three key aspects of cricket i.e. Batting, Bowling and Fielding, three results of the game Win, Lose and Tie and three types of players in the game Batsman, Bowler and Fielder ."

Amit Pabuwal is an expertise in designing trophies. Earlier, he has designed the trophies of many prestigious cricket tournaments including ICC Twenty20 World Cup and the ongoing India vs Pakistan test series 2007. ICL is going to be the first ever private cricket league in India. Fans are eagerly waiting for ICL’s Twenty20 matches and expecting some mind blowing cricket matches from the tournament.
