The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Indian market is expanding day by day. So, it is becoming an attractive place for the global companies of different business sectors and many of them are now interested to launch their venture in India. Recently, Sony Online Entertainment has become interested to open a game development studio in India. The company is now looking for a suitable local partner to launch the studio. Sony will provide with technical support whereas the local partner will arrange physical infrastructure and deal with local market.

Reuters reported:

"Our goal is to have an office in India," he said on the sidelines of a gaming conference.

"We have identified a couple of game developers in India and we are in talks with them," Christensen said, adding Sony would provide technical expertise while the local partner would contribute to the physical infrastructure and local market expertise.

Sony had earlier declared their association with Virgin Comics in a project of making an online game based on the theme of Hindu epic Ramayana. Sony online is a section of Hollywood studio Sony pictures owned by Tokyo based Sony Corp.
