The ascendency of India as an economic world power

With just two weeks remaining to kick off ICL inaugural Twenty20 competition, the authority of Indian cricket league (ICL) has recently made the players’ and coaches’ names public. For each of the six teams, there will be one coach who will manage everything of the team. The tournament will begin from 30 November 2007. Here, I am giving a short introduction of each of the coaches of participating teams of ICL:

Sandip Patil (Mumbai Champs)

Former Indian cricketer and coach of Indian cricket team, Sandip Patil is appointed as coach of Mumbai Champs. Some of the cricket stars like Brian Lara will play under his coaching in ICL. Sandip Patil was one of the members of India’s world cup winning team of 1983 world cup. Being a middle order batsmen and a pace bowler himself, Sandip Patil can help the young local cricketers of Mumbai Champs. He also coached Kenyan national cricket team.

Madan Lal (Delhi Jets)

India’s former great, Madan Lal will coach Delhi Jets in ICL tournament. As an all rounder, he served Indian team for a long time. Madan Lal played a big role for India in 1983 world cup. Later in his career, he coached India A and national team for quite sometime. Now, let us see if he becomes successful in ICL with his team Delhi Jets.

Balwinder Sandhu (Chandigarh Lions)

Balwinder Sandhu will serve as the coach of Chandigarh Lions in Indian cricket league twenty20 competition. This medium fast bowler was also an active member of India’s world cup winning team of 1983 world cup. Some of the famous cricketers like Chris Cairns will play under his coaching in ICL.

Moin Khan (Hyderabad Heroes)

Former Pakistan captain, Moin Khan will emerge as a coach for the first time. He has been appointed as coach of Hyderabad Heroes. It has not been long since this wicketkeeper has appeared for Pakistan team. What is most interesting is that one of his former team mates, Inzamam-Ul-Haq will play for Hyderabad Heroes under Moin’s coaching in ICL twenty20 tournament.

 
Darryl Cullinan (Kolkata Tigers)

Former South African batsman Darryl Cullinan will coach Kolkata Tigers in ICL. He has played both test and ODI cricket for South Africa successfully. After retirement, he has become a commentator. Now, Darryl Cullinan will be seen as a coach most probably for the first time.

Michael Bevan (Chennai Superstars)

If you make list of greatest batsmen of ODI cricket then you can not but include Michael Bevan in the list. This Australian middle order batsman dominated ODI cricket for a decade. Now, he will be seen as a coach for Chennai Superstars in ICL. Now, let us see if he can show his talent in coaching as well.

 So, all of the six coaches were successful in their career. Now, as a coach of ICL teams, it is yet to see if they can continue showing their talent and skill.
