The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Anil Kumble is the current captain of Indian cricket team. Under his captaincy, India has just won the series against Pakistan in home ground. All the Indian fans were delighted and Anil Kumble got a lot of praise from everyone. So, the expectations are huge now as India is going to play against Australian cricket team in Australia. This is a tough task for any cricket team and Australia is always very dangerous in their home ground.

Kumble feels that if the Indian batsmen can play well then India has a good chance of winning the Test series.

The Age wrote:

It will be the final tour of Australia for batsmen Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman, as well as the skipper. India is next due to visit Australia in 2011.

"If you look at the quality in the side, the people who have been playing, the experience in the side, we have the ability to adjust," said Kumble, who led India to a series victory over Pakistan this month.

"If you look at our middle order, we have about 30,000 runs there. That's a lot of Test runs and experience that we have."

I am not that much optimistic about Indian prospect in the series because India has an inexperienced bowling side. Australian pitches are fast and bouncy and always helps the pace bowlers. India lacks quality pace bowlers. So, Kumble will have to work very hard to guide his team to success in the Australian tour.
