The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Australia and India are going to play their first Test match of the test series from 26 December 2007. Australian selectors have finalized the squad for First Test. Stuart MacGill is injured and he cannot play. Brad Hogg has taken his position. Ricky Ponting is the captain while Adam Gilchrist is the vice captain. Brad Hogg must be a happy man now. Of course, this is his big chance to impress the selectors. Well, hardly any spinner can hope to dominate Indian batsmen who are perhaps best in playing spin. 

The players of Australian team for First Test are:

Ricky Ponting (captain), Adam Gilchrist (vice-captain), Phil Jaques, Matthew Hayden, Michael Hussey, Andrew Symonds, Mitchell Johnson, Stuart Clark, Brett Lee, Shaun Tait, Brad Hogg and Michael Clarke.

The good news for Indian batsmen is that this time, there is no Shane Warne or Glenn McGrath to torment them.
