Ranadeb Bose joining Indian Cricket League (ICL)?

Ranadeb Bose is not a famous cricketer but in Indian domestic cricket, he is one of the fast bowlers in great form now. He captured 57 wickets in last season in Indian domestic cricket and he is the top bowler Bengal team. ICL officials approached him earlier this year for joining ICL but he declined the offer as he did not want to destroy his prospect of playing for India. Now, Ranadeb Bose is frustrated that he was no included in the Indian squad that will tour Australia this month. Now, Ranadeb Bose is eager to join ICL if he gets a good offer.

Hindustan Times wrote:

"I know I don't have a chance to play for India anymore may be because I don't do a lot of things that the others do like wishing people on birthdays and anniversaries and spending time in clubs talking to the people who matter after a game. I have never done anything beyond cricket and I will never do anything else," Ranadeb snapped.

Ranadeb had picked five wickets during India's tour of England in the only game he played against Sri Lanka A. Incidentally, the bulk of his wickets in domestic

cricket has come at Eden Gardens where the strip is dead-as-a-dodo.

"I want my performance to be my passport. If that is not happening, it is disappointing," he signed off.

Well, it is true that Indian selectors have to think of many factors while selecting a player for the national team. However, this is not the first time that players like Ranadeb Bose felt frustrated and complained of cronyism. What could Ranadeb Bose do apart playing so well in last season.

Cricinfo wrote:

Two years later, on the back of an exceptional 2006-07 domestic season Bose was back and after being ignored for the Bangladesh tour, made his way into the Indian Test side for England. He got 57 Ranji wickets in eight matches, five-fors in five straight matches, and six in all, two 10-wicket hauls, and three four-wicket hauls to go with that. Only five bowlers have taken more than 57 wickets in a single Ranji season.

So, you have to give Ranadeb Bose felt disgusted. This is surely good news for ICL organizers as they can get a quality player if they want.
