Today was a historical day for Anil Kumble. Anil Kumble became the third player in cricket history to capture 600 wickets. The other two players are Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan. Anil Kumble should be very happy to see that

It took Anil Kumble to breach the counter-attack with a top-spinner that bounced more than Symonds' had bargained for. So crucial was this breakthrough that the celebrations momentarily forgot the significance of the wicket in a wider picture.
It was number 600 for Kumble and he indulged in some high fives and raising of the ball to an appreciative crowd.
Kumble is a tower of strength - a man of honesty and good sense, a cricketer of substance and skill. Only Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan sit above him on the list of all-time.
I am happy for Anil Kumble. He has performed exceptionally well for Indian team for many years. He is in the twilight of his career and he surely deserves some more wickets. I don’t think that he can pass 700 wickets but nevertheless, 600 wickets is an amazing achievement.
