The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Modern economy perhaps now revolves around Internet. Most people in India do not have access to Internet and a small fraction of the population actually use Internet on a regular basis in India. Well, that does not mean that Indian consumers did not suffer in the recent disruption of Internet service because of cable breaks, which occurred on the morning of January 30.

AP wrote:

The biggest impact to the rest of the world could come from the outages across India, where many U.S. companies outsource customer-service call centers and other back-office operations.

"There's definitely been a slowdown," said Anurag Kuthiala, a system engineer at the New Delhi office of Symantec Corp., a security software maker based in Cupertino, Calif. "We're able to work but the system is very slow."

"There's no sense of how soon the problem will be fixed," he added.

The cause of the cable cut is still unknown. I hope that all the problems will be fixed very soon and things will be totally normal for users in India.
