Chennai Super Kings, the official name of IPL’s Chennai franchise, made it headlines after successfully bidding for Mahendra Singh Dhoni with the highest rate of the auction. I have to admit that Chennai Super Kings has a very strong squad and they will certainly be one of the strongest contenders of IPL’s Twenty20 competition. There is no icon member in the squad.
They have a strong bowling and batting line up with a number of all rounders who could be effective at any stage of a match. In the batting line up, Chennai Super Kings have the openers like Matthew Hayden and Stephen Fleming, while their middle order seems to be stronger including Michael Hussey, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina. The squad includes some hard hitting bowling all rounders like Jacob Oram, Albie Morkel and Joginder Sharma. No doubt, they have a deep batting line up that could demolish any bowling side.
Chennai Super Kings also have a balanced bowling squad including Muttiah Muralitharan. Suresh Raina has the ability to help the Sri Lankan great with his handy off spin. Makhaya Ntini will lead their pace attack along with Jacob Oram, Albie Morkel and Joginder Sharma. Besides Dhoni, the squad includes Parthiv Patel as the second wicket keeper. Chennai Super Kings are looking to have a 23-men squad. They are now talking to Abhinav Mukund, Napoleon Einstien, Yo Mahesh and
Mahendra Singh Dhoni ($1,500,000), Jacob Oram ($675,000), Suresh Raina ($650,000), Albie Morkel ($675,000), Muttiah Muralitharan ($600,000), Matthew Hayden ($375,000), Michael Hussey ($350,000), Stephen Fleming ($350,000), Parthiv Patel ($325,000), Joginder Sharma ($225,000), Makhaya Ntini ($200,000)

Hope it would have better if the analysis has taken into account the fact that only 4 overseas players would be part of the starting XI..
