The ascendency of India as an economic world power

WiMax is a new technology in developing countries and until now, you cannot find too many people using this technology in India. Good news for the Indian consumers is that Tata is going to build a large WiMax network and many people will have the opportunity to enjoy high speed Internet facility.

New York Times wrote:

The company, which is targeting both retail and enterprise customers, said that it plans to roll out WiMax in 110 cities for its enterprise customers and 15 cities for retail customers this year.

The company expects to invest US$500 million in this venture over the next three years, a company spokesman said.

I could not find any information about pricing of this service. I just wish that the price does not become too high for average people in India. India has witnessed impressive growth in outsourcing in the last few years. High speed Internet can ensure more growth in Indian IT industry.
