The first test between India and South Africa is going to start from 26 March 2008. Both teams have some solid performance in their recent series. South Africa whitewashed Bangladesh in both test and ODI series. South Africa has landed India recently and set their eyes on the first test.

Similarly, India has also some inspirational performances in their recent tour to Australia. Though they lost the test series, the young guns of Indian side stunned the host clinching the ODI CB series trophy. Ahead of the first test, South Africa’s batting maestro Jacques Kallis said that the two days break they had at home following the Bangladesh helped the players.

The squad’s batting mainstay Jacques Kallis explained the importance of the decision to head home after the Bangladesh series. “Getting a break at home, even if it was for two days, really helped us re-charge our batteries,” he said.

India vs South Africa tour is always very eventful. India was the first test playing nation to host South Africa for an ODI series after they came back to international cricket following a long isolation. So, the cricket relationship between the two countries is always very good.
