Inflation is becoming a major cause of concern for Indian economy. For Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, this is perhaps the biggest challenge of his leadership since he took power four years ago. In fact, regional election will take place in a number of states in 2008 and in 2009; general parliament election is expected to take place. So, inflation before election is never a good thing for any government.

Manmohan Singh is now keen to fight against inflation and he tried to assure the people that he is trying his best. He felt that the price of oil in the world market is increasing and this not helping Indian economy. He also feels that the world community is not doing enough to fight inflation in Asia. He is right.

Now, it seems to be a big challenge for the UPA government ahead of the next parliament election in the country.
