Only 2 decades ago, there were hardly any foreign cars in the Indian streets. Now, it is quite the opposite. Almost all the major international automakers are present in the Indian market. India is gradually turning into an auto export hub in Asia. Indian auto companies are doing well too. Tata Nano is the cheapest car in the world and it is a matter of great pride for India that they could make the cheapest car in the world.
Yes, India is the best place for inexpensive cars and it will remain so for the next few years. Renault-Nissan and Bajaj had also announced the plan of bringing a $2,500 Car by 2011 in India. Skoda has similar plan too. I am sure that in near future, big auto companies like Toyota and GM will join the bandwagon of inexpensive cars.
